WWE Smackdown Review and Results- July 5 2013 edition.

Punk snaps on Del Rio, Randy Orton and Christian have a great match:

CM Punk Promo

We kicked of Smackdown with a special appearance from CM Punk who gave a strong speech about how he relates to the 4th of July Independence concept. He also claimed that he wasn't coming to Smackdown to be like John Cena and talk about Hustle Loyalty and Respect.

Punk says that he has two main goals, 1. To confront Brock Lesnar and 2. Win The Money In The Bank All Stars match and become Champion again. The WHC Alberto Del Rio soon interrupted which CM Punk didn't appreciate, Del Rio claimed that Smackdown was "his show" and that all Americans don't celebrate the 4th of July properly. Teddy Long came out and announced that CM Punk vs Alberto Del Rio will be the Main Event for tonight's show.

Match 1: The Usos vs Team Rhodes Scholars

This was a nice Tag Team match between the two teams, Rhodes Scholars had most of the momentum but after The Usos made the Hot Tag They both Double Splashed from the Top Rope to get the Three Count.

However, the celebration was interrupted by The Shield on the Titan Tron. Though The Usos & Christian beat them one week ago in six-man tag team action, The Hounds of Justice warned their No. 1 contenders that Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns would walk out of Money in the Bank still the Title Holders and Dean Ambrose would become Mr Money In The Bank.

Result: The Usos win

Match 2: Alicia Fox vs Kaitlyn

After Kaitlyn was beginning to gain momentum in this match, The Divas Champion AJ Lee made her way to the ring to begin skipping which distracted Kaitlyn this gave Alicia Fox the win after the roll up on Kaitlyn. After the match Kaitlyn chased AJ into the backstage area but the Divas Champ got away.

Result: Alicia Fox wins

The Wyatt set to invade RAW:

This Monday, the wait is finally over. The creepy Wyatt Family is apparently coming to Raw, and WWE may never be the same again.

Match 3: Randy Orton vs Christian

This was another classic match between these two great rivals, It was a very technical match with back and forth action, As we neared the climax of the match Christian connected with a Spear which Orton managed to Kick out off. Christian seemed frustrated but as he looked for the Kill Switch Randy countered with his signature DDT on the second Rope. As he was setting up for a RKO christian countered but Orton managed to hit him with his finisher to get the three count. Match of the night!!

Result: Randy Orton wins

Match 4: Dolph Ziggler vs Drew McIntyre

Before this match started Ziggler cut a Promo talking about how he will win back his World Heavyweight Championship at the Money In The Bank PPV and that this is his time to shine.

Ziggler got the Pinfall on McIntyre with a Zig Zag but after the match the other members of 3MB tried to attack Ziggler but he escaped without any attack.

Result: Dolph Ziggler wins

Match 5: Fandango vs Justin Gabriel

Quick match between these 2, Fandango got the victory with a high flying Leg Drop of the top rope for the three count.

Result: Fandango wins

Match 6: CM Punk vs Alberto Del Rio

Great match between these 2 very good technical wrestlers, It was a similar style match to the one earlier between Orton and Christian but this  was a bit more fast paced. Paul Heyman was on commentary which made the match even more entertaining, As the action spilled outside the ring, Del Rio confronted Heyman and punched him in the face which led to Punk assaulting Del Rio, This ultimatly led to to a Double Count out and the referee called the match a No Contest. Punk put Del Rio back in the ring and hit the champion with a GTS. Smackdown ended with Punk helping his Best Friend Paul Heyman into the back.

Result: No Contest (Double Count out)

This was a nice episode of Smackdown even though superstars like Kane and Daniel Bryan were not present, I would score Smackdown a 7.5/10 just because there were 2 great matches between Orton vs Christian and Punk vs Del Rio

Randy Orton and CM Punk got huge crowd reactions on the night which was no surprise as they are the most well cheered superstars in WWE, with the exception of Cena and Bryan.
