WWE Smackdown Review and Results- June 28th 2013 edition

Ziggler spoils Fiesta Del Rio, World Heavyweight Championship Money In The Bank participants announced.

Match 1: Sheamus vs Damien Sandow (Dublin Street Fight)

We kicked off Smackdown with a Dublin Street Fight between The Celtic Warrior and The Intellectual Savior Of The Masses. This was a good match which will hopefully settle the feud between the two of them going into the Money In The Bank PPV. All sorts of weapons were used throughout this match including green colored Kendo Sticks, Bar Taps, Kegs of beer and even a sack of potatoes! Sheamus had most of the offence throughout this match and as Sandow was being a sitting duck on a chair. The Celtic Warrior laid Sandow out cold with a Brogue Kick to win the match.

Result: Sheamus Wins

Miz TV with guest Paul Heyman:

Paul Heyman was reluctant to discuss any personal issues he has with CM Punk and Brock Lesnar so it wasn't a suprise that Curtis Axel made his way to the ring shortly after Miz TV had begun. The Miz claimed that when he defeats The Intercontinental Champion, Axel won't be so important to Heyman. Soon after the confrontation Axel immediately attcked Miz sending him to the canvas with a Neck Breaker.

Match 2: AJ vs Natalya (Non Title Match)

Before this match started Kaitlyn made her way to the entrance ramp dressed as AJ as she got revenge for The Divas Chmpion doing it to her on RAW. Kaitlyn trash talked about how AJ had been dating several WWE staff and Personnel, The match then got underway as Kailtyn began skipping round the ring distracting the Divas Champion which led to Natalya rolling up AJ for the win.

Result: Natalya wins

Match 3: Randy Orton vs Kane

After he tapped out on RAW, Randy Orton was out for revenge on Smackdown when he faced Kane, Daniel bryan also came out to the ring but he was on commentary.

As the match turned into a slugfest, The action spilled out of the ring. As Kane was beginning to stir, Daniel Bryan tried to 'help' his former tag team partner back into the ring, But Kane fell victim to a RKO at the hands of The Viper. After the match Bryan headed up the ramp with a smirk on his face.

Result: Randy Orton wins

Match 4: Ryback vs Justin Gabriel

Despite suffering an apparent leg injury that resulted from his match against a determined Justin Gabriel, Ryback overcame his opponent with Shell Shocked. After the match Chris Jericho made his way to the ring and began mocking Ryback, Y2J got the WWE Universe chanting CRY-BACK. This then resulted in the two of them colliding in the middle of the ring which ultimately sent Ryback up the ramp.

Result: Ryback wins

Match 5: The Usos and Christian vs The Shield

This was a good six man tag team match that was fast paced and full of action. After carnage broke out outside the ring, Christian took advantage of a vulnerable Dean Ambrose and hit a huge Spear on the US Champion and gave The Shield only their second Clean loss as a Trio.

Result: Christian and The Usos win

Del Rio's Fiesta

The World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio Ended Smackdown with a Mexican Fiesta which included Balloons and a  mariachi band. After he spoke to the WWE Universe in Spanish, He broke a pinata, He then compared the Pinata to him attacking Ziggler at The Money In The Bank PPV next month. Ziggler who had heard enough, made his way to the ring causing chaos on the fiesta. He put Del Rio's personal Ring Announcer through a table and hit The World Champion with a Zig Zag. Feeling a celebration of his own was in order, the No. 1 contender joined the mariachi band with the broken instrument of destruction in hand – a true Fiesta del Ziggler!

This ended a decent episode of Smackdown, Some good segments and competent matches, I would score it a 7/10

Biggest reactions of the night

  • *Randy Orton
  • *Christian
  • *Dolph Ziggler
  • *Sheamus
